Overview of the NFL 2014-2015 Playoffs
With only one game left before the end of the exciting football season, now is a good time to take a look at how the teams are standing in the playoffs.
The Wildcard Round
If the playoffs started today, the AFC wild card round would begin with the San Diego Chargers versus the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Pittsburgh Steelers versus the Indianapolis Colts. The Chargers are sweating in their spot right now – they need a tie or a victory to have a shot at the playoffs.
The NFC wild card round would begin with the Arizona Cardinals versus the Dallas Cowboys, and the Green Bay Packers versus the Carolina Panthers. The Packers, Cardinals and Cowboys have all clinched a spot in the playoffs, but they still have an opportunity to earn the NFC North division title and a first-round bye if they can win their next game.
The First-Round Bye
For the AFC first-round bye, the New England patriots are gearing up to face the Denver Broncos. Both teams have had a strong season this year, and with only one extra win under the Patriots’ belt, we are bound to see an intense game.
The NFC first-round bye is more unclear than the AFC, as the Lions, Cardinals, Cowboys, and Packers all have a shot at the NFC First-Round Bye. The Packers have a special advantage, as they only need to win their next game to earn their place.
The last game of the season
The last game will be tough for Baltimore, Houston, Kansas City and Atlanta. Each team has a last chance to make the playoffs, and this will be an important fight for them all.
