Serena Williams took a shot of espresso and won the game
Serena Williams, the famous tennis player who is currently ranked number one in women’s singles, has surprised everyone. While she was playing against Flavia Penetta at the Hopman Cup, the American tennis player found a rather unusual way of making her comeback in the game, after losing to her adversary at a score of 0-6 in the first set.
How did she surprised everyone ? Well, packed with confidence and surprising everyone with her originality, Williams took a shot of espresso in order to wake herself up and make a comeback in the game. Although it is not very common to hear that a sportive drinks coffee during games, the method used by Williams certainly did its magic, as the tennis player beat her adversary, Flavia Penetta, in the following sets. In the end, the score took the following form: 0-6, 6-3, 6-0. Who would have anticipated?
What was her response? Serena Williams told Associated Press: “I was just feeling it, so I just had to get some coffee into me. I just asked them to get me a shot of espresso — I asked them if it was legal, because I’ve never done it before. I needed to wake up.” Well, we certainly appreciate her honesty and openness, don’t we?
After all, a little originality never hurt anyone and at the end of the day, all that matters is that we choose the things that suit us best. And the things that are legal and fairplay. Let’s not forget that.
